The pedagogical approach at St Leonards Primary School is underpinned by the Victorian Teaching and Learning Model (VTLM) 2.0, which provides a clear framework for high-quality, evidence-based teaching and learning. Within this framework, we implement the Gradual Release of Responsibility model to ensure students move from teacher-led instruction to independent application with confidence. This structured approach supports all learners to build deep understanding, develop essential skills, and take increasing ownership of their learning.

Students are supported to become highly literate, numerate and digitally capable, while also developing the emotional and social skills needed to thrive in an ever-changing world.
